2Jan 2022. #1. Hoping for some help here. I have a 2018 T6 7-speed DSG and the mechatronic unit has failed after breakdown at about 25,000 miles. Out of warranty with VW and have been quoted 3k for replacement, oils and labour. Inchcape VW Manchester already requested a contribution from VW which was rejected.
TheDSG gearbox oil needs to be changed every 40k, regardless of it being a 6 or 7 speed. The BMW 1 series (2012 on) has an 8 speed torque converter auto. It's easily one of the best gearboxes I've ever used. Whatever you get, I'd advise changing all the fluids/filters on it.
1 Posted. DQ200 DSG / 7 Speed Twin Dry clutch are great and only the faulty ones have issues. That might be 1%, 5% or 10% but Skoda / VW are never going to say how many. So 2012-2014 you can forget the World Wide Recall / Europe Service campaign only. That was for 2009-2012/13 !!!
